PS4 vs PS4 Slim vs PS4 Pro: hardware differences
Every PS4 has the same 8-core AMD “Jaguar” CPU and 8 GB of GDDR5. The Pro (CUH-7000) is the only one with a faster GPU. The Slim (CUH-2000) mostly changed the case, wireless and ports.

Model numbers
- Original: CUH-1000, CUH-1100 and CUH-1200 series, 275 × 53 × 305 mm.
- Slim: CUH-2000 series, 265 × 39 × 288 mm.
- Pro: CUH-7000 series, 295 × 55 × 327 mm.
What changed
The original model has 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1. The Slim and Pro add 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.0. HDR output came with the Slim and Pro. Only the Pro lists 4K over HDMI: select games output native 2160p, and others use enhanced upscaling toward 4K.
Optical digital audio is on the original and the Pro, but Sony’s Slim documents list HDMI as the only AV output. The Pro also has a third USB port.
Power and weight
| Max. power (CUH-7000 series, Sony spec page) | 310 W[3] |
|---|---|
| Max. rated power (CUH-7200B, safety guide) | 300 W[4] |
| Mass (CUH-7000 series, Sony spec page) | approx. 3.3 kg[3] |
| Mass (CUH-7200B, safety guide) | approx. 3.2 kg[4] |
Sony’s documents don’t agree on every number. The PS4 tech-specs page gives the CUH-7000 series a 310 W maximum and about 3.3 kg. The CUH-7200B safety guide lists 300 W and about 3.2 kg. For the Slim, the spec page says about 2.1 kg and the CUH-2200A guide about 2.0 kg. Each value is shown with the document it comes from, because one document covers a whole series and the other a single model.
On the original model, the CUH-1115A is rated at 250 W and weighs about 2.8 kg, and the CUH-1215A at 230 W and about 2.5 kg.
