PlayStation Portal: specifications and requirements
PlayStation Portal is a remote player: games run on your PS5 and are streamed to the Portal over Wi-Fi. With a PS Plus Premium membership it can also stream select games from the cloud without the console.

What it needs
- A PS5 that is connected to the internet, switched on or in rest mode, and paired with the Portal.
- A Wi-Fi connection of at least 5 Mbps; Sony recommends 15 Mbps or more.
- The first setup on your home Wi-Fi. Public Wi-Fi works after that; networks with an extra sign-in step need system software 3.0.1 or later and a phone or tablet to complete the sign-in.
A PS Plus membership is not required for Remote Play itself, only for games whose multiplayer requires it.
What doesn’t work
- Games that need PS VR or PS VR2.
- Games that need peripherals other than a DualShock 4, DualSense or DualSense Edge.
- Games that must be streamed on the PS5 itself through PS Plus Premium.
